Bank holiday announced for Queen’s funeral as King Charles III. officially declared

The announcement comes after that King Charles III was officially proclaimed the new monarch after the death of his mother at the age of 96.

The new monarch automatically became king upon the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth the second who passed away peacefully on Thursday at the age of 96.

However, the former Prince of Wales attended with the Privy Councilors at the Accession Council, which confirmed his role on Saturday morning.

The new King approved a bank holiday for the Queen’s funeral as part of National Day of Mourning.

Her Majesty’s funeral is due to take place on Monday September 19 and will be confirmed by Buckingham Palace.

Lord President of the Council, Penny Mordaunt, said: “Draft two proclamations. First – the designation of the day of Her Late Majesty’s State Funeral as a bank holiday in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

“Second – to set the day of Her late Majesty’s state funeral as a bank holiday in Scotland.

“And of two orders in Council directing the Lord Chancellor to affix the Great Seal to the Proclamations.”

Charles replied, “Approved.”

In his statement, the king said: “Gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen, it is my most sorrowful duty to inform you of the death of my beloved mother, the Queen.

“I know how deeply you, the whole nation, and I believe I may say, the whole world, sympathize with me for the irreparable loss we have all suffered.

“It is my greatest comfort to know the sympathy that so many have expressed to my sister and brothers.

“And that such overwhelming affection and support should be bestowed upon our entire family in our loss.”

The King continued the statement, saying: “To all of us as a family in relation to this kingdom and the wider family of nations of which it is a part, my mother set an example of lifelong love and selfless service.

“My mother’s reign was unmatched in duration, devotion and devotion.

“Even though we mourn, we give thanks for this extremely faithful life.

“In assuming this responsibility, I will endeavor to follow the inspiring example given to me in upholding constitutional government and peace, harmony and prosperity to the peoples of these islands and the Commonwealth realms and territories around the world aspire to world.
