Barefoot teenager ‘begging for his life’ is chased around Lidl by knife-wielding thugs

A police investigation has been launched after a boy was seen “begging hysterically for his life” while being chased through a supermarket by a knife-wielding gang.

The victim, believed to be around 16, ran into the store “screaming for help” around 2:30 p.m. Monday. Lancs Live reports.

A mother who was shopping at the store with her five-month-old said the gang “got everything and everyone out of the way.”

She described running into the storage room “where they all caught up with him” and one of the gang “dropped a knife on the way out and it wasn’t small.”

In a post on Facebook, she said: “Do you know where your son is right now? Because I just witnessed the scariest thing you can imagine when I was shopping at Lidl with my baby.

“A young lad walking alone barefoot through the store calling for help was pursued by a gang of lads in balaclavas and with knives. She pushed everything and everyone out of the way and my 5 month old almost got thrown out of her stroller.

“He ran into the storage room where unfortunately they all caught up with him. I’m not sure how he’s doing right now. One of them dropped a knife on the way out and it wasn’t small.

“The sound is something that will honestly haunt me for the rest of my life. I’m shattered and it wasn’t even me.

“Real screams and pleas, hysterically begging for his life, he must have been 16, 17 in one fell swoop. That’s someone’s kid.

“And as for the perpetrators, someone’s child too. If you don’t know where your children are right now, I would do something about it.”

Witnesses said the youth fled the store on electric bicycles and the boy was held in a storage room until police arrived at the scene.

Lancashire Police said: “We are aware and the matter is currently under investigation.” Anyone with information should call the police on 101 and quote log 0732 from June 20.
