Bayonetta 3 – All locations of Umbral Tears

BAYONETTA 3 has a huge number of secrets including Umbral Tears that unlock additional challenge levels to play.

There are three to collect in each level: a crow, a cat and a frog. They can appear in any order.

If you want to get the most out of Bayonetta 3, here are all the Umbral Tears locations to unlock additional levels:

Chapter 1 – Bayonetta 3 Umbral Tears

  • tear 1 – The cat left in some debris as soon as you enter Tokyo. It will run through tunnels in the rubble in a square pattern. Cut corners with Bayonetta’s Dash to catch up.
  • tear 2 – The frog is right after the cutscene where some buildings collapse. It is behind the hanging sign by the cafe on the right.

  • tear 3 – After opening the underground tunnels, you will come to a circular room with a way up. The crow stands opposite the entrance. Run in one direction to scare it, then run back in the other direction to catch it.

Chapter 2 – Bayonetta 3 Umbral Tears

  • tear 1 – The crow is perched on the underground parking ramps in the middle of the first area. Shoo it away, then jump out to catch it.
  • tear 2 – After verse 2 you see a group of cats hanging around some trucks on the right. The one with the red glow is the Umbral Tear.
  • tear 3 – After the long spider sequence, you’ll hear some chatter on the left. Examine the debris to find the frog.

Chapter 3 – Bayonetta 3 Umbral Tears

  • tear 1 – Right after verse 1 continue through the cave up the other train. Our frog friend will hang on the wall outside.
  • tear 2 – After entering Taito, turn around and fall backwards onto a broken platform. The crow is sitting on the corner here.
  • tear 3 – The cat is just after you go up the ramp in Taito and is running around a building on the left. Knock down a plank on the roof to block his path before giving chase.

Chapter 4 – Bayonetta 3 Umbral Tears

  • tear 1 – Near the big gates in China’s first area, there are some wooden platforms on the left. Climb this onto a roof. On the right is another small wooden platform with the crow perched on top.
  • tear 2 – After the dragon fight, go through the gate and look to the right. There is a broken path. Follow him and at the end you will see the cat. Knock the luggage off the ladder and chase the cat clockwise up the ladder to catch it.
  • tear 3 – Continue along the main path and you will see a small brick hut on your left. The frog is in the door at the back.

Chapter 5 – Bayonetta 3 Umbral Tears

  • tear 1 – After entering the second area, go straight past the rubble. The cat is on the stairs to the left. You can easily catch up with it if you sprint.
  • tear 2 – As you enter the yard, there is a high roof straight ahead. Climb and reach up there to find the frog hanging above.
  • tear 3 – The crow is right in front of Rodin’s shop. Chase it to the roof and jump to catch it.

  • tear 1 – Where you find verse 2, turn right and chase the cat across the bridge.
  • tear 2 – Instead of going down the stairs to the left to verse 6, climb onto the small outpost in front of you. The crow sits here. Approach it from the front and jump over the left ledge to catch it.
  • tear 3 – After verse 7, go to the rubble on the right. Climb up and the frog is hanging on the building.

Chapter 7 – Bayonetta 3 Umbral Tears

  • tear 1 – After verse 6, go through the opening on the left to find the crow sitting on the fence.
  • tear 2 – In the room with the flowing sand, hug the right wall and find the frog at the end.
  • tear 3 – Even in the room with flowing sand, the cat is around the collapsed building in the middle. Chase it across the platforms to catch it.

Chapter 8 – Bayonetta 3 Umbral Tears

  • tear 1 – There are many frogs in the first area, but the crack is behind the waterfall near the golden light for verse 3.
  • tear 2 – The crow sits on a platform to the right of the stairs through the flowing sand.
  • tear 3 – After destroying the eggs with your frog song, look at the top of the black pillars in the room. The cat will walk over these until you catch them.

Chapter 9 – Bayonetta 3 Umbral Tears

  • tear 1 – There are many frogs around the waterfall which makes it difficult to hear it. The crack is on the left side of the falling water, hidden in a patch of grass.
  • tear 2 – In the first room full of fans, climb onto the high platform to the left of the big door. The crow sits here, but prepare for a difficult flight in the winds to catch it.
  • tear 3 – In the room where verse 7 triggers, find the cat at the other end. Dash around the ledge to catch it.

Chapter 10 – Bayonetta 3 Umbral Tears

  • tear 1 – Climb the tower in the first area and you will see a broken bridge with a chest. You can see the crow from here. Chase it to the left, then run to a raised ledge and jump up to grab it.
  • tear 2 – The cat is sitting on the wall at the entrance to the subway. Chase it away, then quickly run to the entrance across the street to catch it as it pops out.
  • tear 3 – In the alley where you find verse 7 there is a small area with a chest. Opposite the chest is a breakable wall, behind which is the frog.

Chapter 11 – Bayonetta 3 Umbral Tears

  • tear 1 – On the main road near the start you will see the crow sitting on some rubble on the right. Chase it and it will fly down the road you started on. Run back there to make an easy catch.
  • tear 2 – After entering the subway, you will enter a room full of floating debris. The frog is on the right on a small ledge behind the platform.
  • tear 3 – After exiting the subway, turn the street backwards. You will see the cat sitting on one of the awnings of a shop front. It must be chased over these to catch it.

Chapter 12 – Bayonetta 3 Umbral Tears

  • tear 1 – After verse 2 you will see an alley on the right. Follow him and the crow will be perched on a rubble at the other end of the square. Pursue it and then run back through the door you came through. A well-timed jump will catch this one.
  • tear 2 – Near verse 2 there is a hole in the road on the left. Jump down onto some platforms here and the frog will be waiting on the furthest one.
  • tear 3 – Go down after verse 4 on the left and you will see an alleyway filled with rubble. Destroy all vehicles here to reveal the cat and make it easier to catch.

Chapter 13 – Bayonetta 3 Umbral Tears

  • tear 1 – After the ground crumbles away, there are some floating platforms on the left where the cat is. Chase it with your dash to catch it.

  • tear 2 – Across from the platforms where you will find the cat, the frog is sitting on the other side of one of the stalagmites.
  • tear 3 – After the frog, follow the path to a spiral hill. The crow is at the top. Run across the platforms with it to catch it.
