BBC Radio 1’s Greg James was shocked after co-star Charlie Hedges announced her pregnancy on air.
During yesterday’s popular radio show’s ‘Tell Me Something Good’ segment, the 35-year-old man made a surprise announcement.
After Greg asks her to ‘tell him something good’, she quickly tells him: “I’m having a baby.”
There’s a second of stunned silence before the music cuts out and Greg finally says, “You.. What are you talking about?”
She repeats her announcement and Greg excitedly asks, “Are you kidding? What are you talking about?!”
Charlie then asked the 36-year-old if he wanted to see her belly and stood up.
“Oh my! What? Charlie! Oh my! Great news!” Greg shouted.

“To say we’re on the moon is an understatement xxx”
Fans immediately flocked to the comments section to congratulate the host on the good news.
“Oh, Charlie, so happy for you! I’ve been a huge fan of yours since the Kiss FM days. You make me proud, Miss Essex. Baby Hedges xxxxx yay babes xxx,” one user posted.
Another excited fan added: “What an epic reveal!!!! It’s lovely to hear such great news being broadcast live compared to all the bad news we’re still hearing. Congratulations xxx”
One Twitter user commented: “Lovely news Charlie! Congratulations to you and your partner, I bet they will be a little dynamite in which to passionately dance the national anthems! I hope you all are staying in good health.”

“Hi Baby Hedges,” another posted. “This is great news and the best way to announce it on the air ever!”
It is not clear who the father of the baby is because the star is tight-lipped about his private life.
Charlie is also a DJ and even worked as a DJ at the Sundance festival. In January 2016, she also launched the music podcast Skiddle to Mixcloud.
Before becoming a presenter on BBC Radio 1, the radio personality hosted the KISS FM Breakfast Show for 10 years alongside Ricki Haywood-Williams and Melvin Odoom.
Then, in 2018, the trio turned to the BBC to take on Charlie Sloth’s mid-evening spot.
Charlie also performed Saturday’s Dance Anthems.
