BBC releases trailer for TV series SAS starring Sex Education’s Connor Swindels

The BBC has released the first full-length trailer for director Steven Knight’s upcoming SAS: Rogue Heroes TV series.

Onnor Swindells, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Allen and Dominic West can be seen in the new trailer, after forming the most ruthless and infamous Special Forces unit in the world.

In the teaser, the Sex Education star Swindels, who plays the eccentric young officer David Stirling, says: “The war is in the balance. Who dares wins, and we will continue to dare.

“Welcome to SAS.”

The 26-year-old was named ‘the dreamer’ in the trailer while Game Of Thrones actor Allen was named ‘creator’ and Skins star O’Connell was ‘the scorer’ .

In the trailer, O’Connell appears as Paddy Mayne points her gun at the sky and says, “Let the game begin.”

Allen, who plays Jock Lewes in the series, is seen creating a bomb before planting it and setting it off.

The Wire star Dominic West plays Lieutenant Colonel Wrangel Clarke in the teaser, which depicts dramatic explosions and desert scenes filmed in Morocco.

The trailer, set in 1941 Cairo, also stars Kingsman actress Sofia Boutella, Industry’s Amir El Masry and Carnival Row actor Theo Barklem-Biggs.

The six-part series is an adaptation of Ben Macintyre’s best-selling book, providing dramatic narration of how the SAS was founded during the Second World War, after being granted access to the archives secret storage of the SAS.

The show meets Swindels’ character Stirling in the hospital after a training exercise goes wrong.

He creates a radical plan, confronts all accepted rules of modern warfare and fights for permission to recruit the toughest, boldest and brightest soldiers for a small secret units would create mayhem behind enemy lines, according to his assertion that traditional commando units should not work.
