BBC Strictly Come Dancing big change for World Cup 2022

Strictly Come Dancing fans need to be aware of a schedule change this week, meaning the show will not air on Saturday nights.

It’s the first of two schedule changes affecting the show’s quarterfinals and semifinals.

The changes are intended to allow coverage of the World Cup on BBC One as the tournament enters its knockout stages.

Will Strictly Come Dancing run during the World Cup?

During the World Cup, too, things will continue strictly, with different dates being set for the quarter-finals and semi-finals.

To make room for the Argentina-Australia game, the Strictly quarter-finals will now take place tonight (Friday 2 December) instead of the usual Saturday.

The semi-finals will take place just over a week later, on Sunday 11 December.

A BBC spokesman confirmed to that changes had been made to the plans.

They said: “Strictly Come Dancing will continue to bring glitz, glamor and dance glory to homes across the country during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

“The Strictly Come Dancing Quarter-Finals will now be broadcast live on Friday 2nd December and the Semi-Finals will now be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday 11th December.”

When is the 2022 Strictly Come Dancing finals?

The final is supposed to take place on December 17th.

This would match last year’s end date, which aired December 18. BBC Strictly Come Dancing big change for World Cup 2022
