King Charles III and his sons will walk behind the Queen’s coffin as she leaves Buckingham Palace for the last time before she lies in state.

The royal family will accompany their matriarch on foot as they make their way to Westminster Hall, where hundreds of thousands of people are expected to pay their respects after queuing for hours.

Charles, the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex will be part of the procession on Wednesday afternoon, along with the Duke of York, the Princess Royal and the Earl of Wessex.

The Queen, Princess of Wales, Countess of Wessex and Duchess of Sussex arrive by car.

The procession leaves the Palace at 2:22pm and is expected to arrive at Westminster Hall at 3:00pm.

A service lasting approximately 20 minutes will be led by the Archbishop of Canterbury accompanied by the Dean of Westminster.

Mourners have already queued up to attend the Queen’s funeral, which begins at 5pm and lasts until 6.30am on Monday 19 September, the day of the Queen’s funeral.

The government says the queue is expected to be very long as people stand “many hours, possibly overnight” with very little opportunity to sit down.—watch/?ref=rss BBC to livestream Queen lying in state ahead of state funeral – how to watch
