Beach cordoned off after suspected explosive device was found

Gardaí are currently at the scene of an incident where a device was found on a beach in Co Louth.

The device was found in Clogherhead and the area was cordoned off while the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit was contacted.

Clogherhead is an east coast fishing village bordered by the villages of Annagassan to the north and Termonfeckin to the south.
