Beat The Chasers: Contestant Misses Cash in One Second
Viewers of Beat The Chasers were “heartbroken” and “absolutely devastated” by a contestant’s unlucky performance on Thursday night’s ITV series.
Frankie, a retired police officer who shares a connection with Prince William and Prince Harry, revealed his hope of traveling with his wife, twin brother and wife.
The quizster said he was “not greedy” as he chose to face just three of the Chasers, for £15,000 – despite offers as high as £75k.
Frankie was desperate to cure his loved ones with a road trip in California, knowing he would need some money for it.
But as the tense game progresses, it ends heartbreakingly as a few wrong answers cause him to run out of time.

What really caught the viewer’s attention was that the Chasers were also running out of time and there was only a second left on the clock when Frankie bowed.
If Frankie gets only one question right, or they get one more wrong, he gets the money he wants for his dream trip.
There was only a second between Frankie and the dream prize money, and he was clearly devastated when the studio lit up red and he lost.

Host Bradley Walsh put his head on his podium, and Chaser Jenny Ryan covered her mouth in shock.
It’s so close that it can happen either way, and watching Frankie lose is tough for viewers – especially when he gets emotional.
Placing his face in his hands, he was visibly annoyed and unable to speak when Bradley told him he had “gutted” for him.
The Chasers said he played a great game and applauded him, while Jenny said: “It was heartbreaking.”

Viewers watching at home were “devastated” by the quiz game, with one piece writing: “Absolutely sorry for Frankie, he played the right game but alas he missed the money. “
Another viewer said: “Ah, poor Frankie can cry because he’s heartbroken because he looks so sad.”
A third tweeted: “It never hurts to see someone miss,” as the fourth commented, “Absolutely devastating for Frankie… Only 1 second.”
This was echoed by another viewer, who tweeted: “Gutted for Frankie is so close!”
Beat The Chasers continues to take place at 9 pm, every Friday on ITV.
