Okay, we’ll admit this is more of a Victorian mansion than a castle, but with its turrets, vast grounds, and lavish interiors, we thought it had to be on the list.
The property sleeps up to 28 people in its 14 bedrooms (there are nine bathrooms), living rooms have high ceilings, huge windows and plush furniture. In fact, the general decor is quite lavish.
Outside, the lawns are ideal for a game of croquet or badminton in the summer months, or you can wander to nearby Lunan Bay Beach for a bit of adventure.

This 18th-century castle has an impressive history including being the last castle built in England and two Grade I listed towers.

Roch Castle near the St Davids Peninsula has some pretty cool features, including a hidden room paying tribute to the knight Adam de Rupe, the castle’s founder, and turrets overlooking the surrounding countryside, including Skomer Island and the Preseli Hills.
There are also many original features of the castle, such as the grand circular entrance with its exposed rock face and the castle’s own chapel.
