Ben Shephard looked pretty embarrassed on Monday Morning as he talked to Josie Gibson and Vernon Kay about Tipping Point.
ITV Games is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and Josie and Vernon are keen to hear what Ben thinks about the show’s success.
“Ben, the simple things are the greatest, why do you think Tipping Point has been so successful?” Vernon asked the father of two children.
“I think a lot of it has to do with nostalgia. These old dime machines that we all loved to play with as kids at the end of the dock, and then we give people a chance to come in and move on. .
“It’s also a real grader. You don’t necessarily have to have the best general knowledge, you need to have a little luck along the way. This machine can be a bit cruel at times,” added Ben. .
“And you’ve been gone for 10 years in July, can you believe you’ve made it that long?” Josie then asked.
“Josie, I only last 10 minutes with most of what I do,” he replied as Josie burst out laughing before awkwardly saying, “Oh yeah!”
Ben didn’t seem to realize that Josie was laughing so hard at first, but then Vernon commented, “That’s going viral!” and he seemed to suddenly recognize his fake card.
Trying to clear up the situation, Ben quickly said, “Even if Vernon you don’t want to hear my Spanx story. My Spanx story will go viral, but we can’t share it!”
The cheeky allusions don’t end there, though, as former Big Brother star Josie went on to reveal that she sits on Ben’s face every summer.
“I have my Ben Shephard swimsuit and your face in a really funny place,” she revealed while chuckling.
“And I also have the Ben Shephard outdoor bench that I go out every summer and sit on … with your face on it.”
This Morning airs at 10 a.m. weekdays on ITV and ITV Hub.
