Tipping Point host Ben Shephard was left speechless on a recent episode of the hit ITV game, when a winning contestant detailed the surprising way she plans to use it. his jackpot.
Ben Shephard fans watched another installment of the dramatically choreographed video game, which saw contestants battle each other for cash prizes.
The game program consists of a series of questions that players must answer to win the counter, which are then dropped into a giant arcade-style coin vending machine divided into four drop zones.
On Monday’s episode of the ITV show, Claudia, Alison and Anssi fought for tokens to play in the Tipping Point machine.
Alison was the first to fall, pitting Claudia and Anssi against each other in an attempt to reach the final round.
The odds were in Claudia’s favor and she overcame it hoping to win the £10,000 jackpot.
While she grapples with several questions, Claudia still manages to get the coveted jackpot code over the counter.
After the win, Ben said: “You’ve just won £10,000, Claudia, how does it feel?”
She replied, “I can’t believe it… it’s amazing, it feels great.”
The host then asked: “Tell me what you will do with the money now?”
Claudia replied: “Definitely a trip to America and Nathan will kill me for saying but I’ll book some for a wedding.”
Before Ben could say anything, she raised her left hand and added, “But I’m not engaged.”
Stunned, Ben replied, “Well. So you’re proposing to Nathan?”
“That gives him a big kick,” explains Claudia, before Ben replies, “Oh, so he still has to do it? You’ve been told, Nathan.”
This comes after the Tipping Point movement caused controversy among viewers with some fans claiming the accessory was ‘cheating’.
Ben, 47, set the record in an interview when he described how the famous money counting machine was made up of a “complicated system”.
In 2019, the part-time Good Morning Britain presenter gave fans insight as he answered some of the most asked questions in the UK about the show.
“It’s a really complicated system run by the gallery,” he told the Huffington Post.
“It’s such a complicated setup, that’s why when people ask if we can do it on the road, that’s why we can’t,” he added.
While the machine runs on its own impressive electronics, there’s still a vital person behind the machine in the chair.
“He has to make sure the hydraulics are working at the right speed, because sometimes they can be too fast. He has to make sure the counter feed hoppers are full,” says Ben.
Tipping Point airs at 4pm on weekdays on ITV.
