OK! reviews Benefit’s new Bad Gal Bang Waterproof Mascara

Hands up if you have a vacation planned sometime this year? Or at least dream of one? We also. And there’s nothing worse than sweating off your makeup or ruining your mascara at a pool party — thankfully, with Benefit’s new Bad Gal Bang Waterproof Mascara, that’s a thing of the past.

Since the original launched in 2018, Benefit has added volume to 52 million individual lashes, so it was time to release a waterproof version.

One of The Beauty Edit’s testers, Lynne H, put it to the test and was amazed by the results. She said, “I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried the pool-safe version of a favorite mascara, only to find it’s less of a twin and more of an ugly sister.”

When she tried the new waterproof version of Benefit’s best-selling mascara, she remarked that it “feels just as good, gives the same volume and lift, and has the same super black pigment.” Twins? You bet.”

Priced at £24.50, it’s not cheap – but who wants that dreaded panda moment when posing for pictures on the Gram?

Lynne added, “I shouldn’t have doubted it so much because the original mascara is actually pretty waterproof and I’ve worn it once in the pool without coming up with panda eyes. hmm I guess I just have to book a sun vacation, pack both mascaras and do a forensic comparison of how well they do in the water.”

Benefit has said its latest mascara adds volume for 36 hours and the gravity-defying formula contains ultra-lightweight aeroparticles that create great volume without weighing it down.

The custom slimpact brush is so streamlined that it reaches from root to tip, corner to corner – plus your upper and lower lashes.

Coinciding with this new launch, Benefit also launched the new They’re Real Xtreme Precision Liner in a waterproof version!

The smooth, gliding, ultra-pigmented liner features a 0.1mm tapered brush tip designed for comfort and extreme precision.

The innovative design maximizes pigment flow with precise control – without pulling the skin on your eyes.

There are 53 ribs (ribs) at 0.1mm intervals inside the barrel to prevent leakage without spilling – or ruining your purse or cosmetic bag.

Not to mention 325 ultra-fine bristles for comfort and enough strength when applying your liner.

How good is that? Priced at just £22 it’s also now available on Benefit’s website – and both products are available from a variety of retailers including Boots, John Lewis, Feel Unique, LookFantastic to name a few.
