Bethesda is adding legacy Elder Scrolls titles to Steam for free to play

Betheda has made some of its older games available to play for free on Steam. So if you haven’t tried them yet, you no longer have an excuse not to.

Again, these are older titles, so they’re not as slick as Skyrim or newer Fallout titles. Still, free is free and you should take the time to play it because why not?

The free-to-play titles are The Elder Scrolls: Arena, The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall (you really should check this out), and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

These games were recently added to Steam with the retirement of the Launcher along with the Creation Kit for Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition.

If these games aren’t your thing or you’ve already played them, you can get a few more Elder Scrolls games cheap. For example, older titles An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire and The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard cost $5.99 each.

Even better, a newer TES game, The Elder Scrolls Online (a cracker of a MMORPG) is currently on sale at a whopping 70% off and will cost you just $5.99.

All of these Elder Scrolls games give you a nice historical backdrop to both the series and the lore ahead of the release of The Elder Scrolls 6 – which is expected to be sometime before the rapture (hopefully).

Still in the early stages of development, TES 6 was first revealed at E3 2018, which is uncharacteristic of Bethesda to announce a game that’s so out there; However, the studio wanted to reassure fans that it’s in the works.

No details about the game were provided, so all we know is that it’s designed to last a decade or more, and work on it won’t fully begin until Starfield is out the door on November 11th. Bethesda is adding legacy Elder Scrolls titles to Steam for free to play
