Bez made all stops during Sunday night’s version of Dancing On Ice – even flying over the ice riding a giant bat during his skating performance for the late singer Meat Loaf. Sadly for the Happy Monday star, the judges and viewers were unimpressed

Bez The impressive tribute to the late Meat Loaf wasn’t enough to win over the Dancing On Ice judges on Sunday night.
Bez – whose real name is Mark Berry – rode a giant bat on tonight’s show, posing as a “waste skater” wearing a leather jacket and cyclist helmet.
The performance, which is part of the show’s Music Week, was taken from the Bat Out of Hell theatrical production and comes after Meat Loaf died last month at the age of 74.
Chatting with his professional partner Angela Egan, 35, earlier this week during rehearsals, Bez explained that he hopes this will be a fitting tribute to the late singer.
During Sunday night’s live show, the production team threw everything in to distract viewers, apparently, from Bez’s ice skating — including more skateboards, fireballs, and effects. other.
At one point, the helmeted contestant was lifted into the air with a pair of giant bat wings, but it wasn’t enough to give him a higher score.
Bez didn’t give it more than five points from any of the judges – including guest Arlene Phillips – and received some brutal responses.
The Manchester-born star admitted he had “failed to improve” in the previous weeks and insisted the particular additions to his most recent performance were “a distraction”.
“I’ve been trying my best to get Oti’s high score, but it seems I’ve failed,” Bez admitted, after Dancing On Ice gave him a four on Sunday night.
“But I had a lot of distractions tonight,” he added, after host Phillip Scofield pointed out all the interesting traits related to his latest performance.
Not only the judges were not too impressed with Bez’s most recent competition.
Viewers watching at home took to social media to suggest that the Happy Mondays star was making up for his poor performance.
“bez was right about the annoying things. He does the same thing every week. Think it’s time for him to go and don’t forget to ask Arlene what she thinks or do I miss it! #dancingonice,” one thoughtful viewers. Twitter when the program is broadcast.
“Without distractions and other dancers, Bez would just stagger in the middle of the ice without moving! #Dancingonice,” another tweeted, with a third adding: “Throw all the crap There’s no point in distracting the world with that routine. #dancingonice.”
One angry fan tweeted a rant – decrying Bez for being responsible for stretching time over ‘better’ dancers.
“If that idiot comes through this week and someone good goes…. I’ll go crazy,” they raged on Twitter.
“There are too many distractions to hide how my condition is. Too much chattering around and no skating. WHY IS ARLENE NOT COMPLETED? Was it because she told the truth that he was? what kind of person is it? # dance”
Not everyone is a critic, with some audiences liking Bez for the entertainment value he brings.
“I love that Bez has to wear a harness to fly about 6ft in the air, but they actually let him try jumping on the ice,” added one fan in response.
“I really enjoy the feeling of dread whenever I hear ‘Next Bez’ #DancingOnIce.”
They weren’t the only Bez supporter on Twitter, with others adding comments like: “YES Bez, what a truly unbelievable tribute to Meatloaf in earnest.
“Obviously not the best skater ever unfortunately but still having to hand it over to him literally never fails completely to impress right? Totally in love with him.”
