BGT: Singer Honey Scott hid Stephen Mulhern in her song

Britain’s Got Talent viewers were left unimpressed with a singer’s head-bumping into presenter Stephen Mulhern.

Singer Honey Scott auditioned with just her guitar and made jokes about a few celebrities as she sang her BGT-themed song.

A verse that includes a poke at the Saturday Night Takeaway star and his side gig went wrong.

The 45-year-old also hosted Britain’s Got More Talent on ITV2.

She sings: “Ant and Dec I’m feeling the pressure right now, they’ve been good friends forever.

“Stephen Mulhern isn’t as good as the two of them, that’s why he’s not on ITV2.”

The audience then laughed, along with Ant McPartlin, Declan Donnelly and the judges – including Simon Cowell.

However, viewers at home thought the joke had gone a bit too far and took to social media to question why she was singing the lines.

“no!!!!! four buzz for Honey Scott, please DARE her insult Stephen Mulhern this show is nothing without him and bgmt,” one user said.

Another added: “Not impressed at all with her badmouthing Stephen Mulhern in her song.”

“To the Essex girl strumming her guitar on #BGT : You should NEVER insult Stephen Mulhern like that. Used to be,” commented one unimpressed fan.

One social media user said: “I liked her song until the Stephen Mulhern part, that’s not called! Stephen Mulhern is a legend.”

One person posted: “Don’t like her bashing Stephen but it’s a good song.”

Fans clearly miss BGMT as they took to Twitter after a few episodes of the singing competition to talk about it.

One person asked: “This year’s BGT is disappointing because it’s such a big deal! What happened to all the funny terrible auditions? And what happened to England having so much talent? than?”

Another said: “Totally agree with #goldenbuzzer #BGT tonight but it’s episode 3 and there’s still not a lot of variety, all the funny acts we all cringe but love to watch @BGT” Chris agreed and said: Tell all the bad deeds! #BGT”

Back in 2020, Stephen hinted about Britain’s Got More Talent being dropped from ITV2 by ITV2 after 13 years on screen.

I said Sun Online : “Unfortunately and when they decided not to be in the ITV2 version, I think the consensus between the boys and the judges was that this was a big gap.

“We did it from day one, when there were only three judges. Do I think that’s a pity? I do. We left out a lot of things. “
