Britain’s Got Talent is facing a new row of repairs after it emerged a gospel choir appeared on the ‘already popular’ Saturday night show.
The London Evangelical Community Choir wowed the judges with Mariah Carey’s performances of O’Jays’ Love Train and Anytime You Need a Friend.
They easily made it through to the next round with four yesses and even a standing ovation from Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.
But viewers at home were quick to take to Twitter to point out the choir is a professional performer who has been active for many years and already has a huge loyal fan base.

One Britain’s Got Talent fan commented: “As brilliant as they are, the London Gospel Community Choir are professionals and should not be allowed to join #BritainsGotTalent.”
Another wrote: “Watching BGT. The London Community Choir is truly world-renowned. They were on Blue Peter all the time when I was a kid. Ask anyone on the street to name a Gospel Choir and that’s who they say. They will get 89 points for a nonsense question about the gospel. “
“I love the London Community Gospel Choir. I loved them for a long time. I’ve seen them perform at major venues, they’re on my Spotify playlists. So why are they on #BGT,” said a third.
“London Community Gospel Choir is absolutely a household name… @BGT,” said a fourth.
The fifth added: “The London Community Gospel Choir is phenomenal. That’s why they are famous, successful and often appear on TV or other artists’ recordings. I don’t know why they are allowed to join #BritainsGotTalent. ”
While some fans pointed out that the choir has performed on stage with acts as big as Blur.
One wrote: “Nice to see London Community Gospel Choir on #BGT. That would be the London Community Gospel Choir that performed in some pretty big gigs with @blurofficial right? ”
The choir was founded in 1982 by Pastor Bazil Meade, whose Twitter account describes them as ‘world famous’. He was even awarded an MBE for gospel music services in 2018.
Their website states that they have performed with major musical artists such as Tom Jones, Elton John, Madonna, Paul McCartney and Mariah Carey.
Adele, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Justin Timberlake, Nick Jonas and Gregory Porter were also eliminated.
Major events such as singing at the FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium, Glastonbury, Live 8 and regular performances at the Royal Albert Hall are also covered.
It added the British media had called them “the nation’s favorite choir”.
Mirror has contacted ITV and Britain’s Got Talent for comment.
This isn’t the first row of bug fixes that Britain’s Got Talent 2022 series has included so far.
Amanda Holden’s singer Loren Allred made an appearance on the show despite providing vocals for the movie The Greatest Showman.
While Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer actor Alex Blake has an indie gig on Amazon Prime.
Action Titan is also said to have a secret connection with BGT owners Ant and Dec after appearing on their Saturday Night Takeaway show.
