Britain’s Got Talent favorite Loren Allred says she’s happy to “finally tell her own story” after singing “Never Enough” for the 2017 film The Greatest Showman, starring Zendaya and Hugh Jackman
Britain’s Got Talent favorite Loren Allred has opened up about her joy at stepping into the limelight after being the faceless voice of blockbuster film The Greatest Showman.
The 32-year-old American, who sang the popular track ‘Never Enough’ in the 2017 hit, is in tonight’s ITV final after years in the shadow of the stars.
She said: “For me, BGT was about being able to go to the UK and for people to get to know me for me and not just a faceless voice in The Greatest Showman.
“It was an opportunity for me to step out of the shadow of ‘The Greatest Showman’ and be myself. It allowed me to tell my own story in my own words and introduce myself as Loren.
“To be in the final means everything – especially because the British audience voted for me to go through.”
Loren has the support of Hollywood star Hugh Jackman – who played the lead role of legendary entertainer PT Barnum on The Greatest Showman – as well as celebrity friends including singers Michael Buble and Rebecca Ferguson and hitmaker David Foster.
At Thursday’s live semi-final, Loren’s strong performance won the public’s overall rating. And she will be forever grateful to judge Amanda Holden, who pressed the golden buzzer to get her through to the semifinals.
Loren said, “She was the one who saw something in me and stood up for me from the start.”
Loren is among 10 acts, plus a wildcard choice from the judges, in the finals. The winner will receive £250,000 and a seat at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.
Britain’s Got Talent can be seen on ITV on Sunday 4 June at 7.30pm
