Britain’s Got Talent: Simon Cowell says Tommy J is not ‘very talented’

Britain’s Got Talent viewers were distracted on Saturday night when comedian Tommy J took the stage to wow the judges with his performance and told the audience he had an actor. other comedians in the family.

Judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden are back for another part of the audition on the hit ITV talent show.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly also return as hosts, watching from the sidelines as the contestants gear up their gear on stage for a coveted spot on the Royal Variety Show.

Tommy, 18, told the crowd his dad was a comedian – before adding that he was the funniest of the two.

But viewers were distracted by the teen comic’s resemblance to comedian Lee Evans – and took to Twitter to theorize whether the two might be related.

18 year old Tommy told the crowd that his father was a fellow comedian

One wrote: “This kid reminds me so much of Lee Evans that I’d have to Google if they were involved,” another said: “Tommy already has some Lee Evans in him.”

Anther wrote: “The son of Tommy J Lee Evan!!” as another posted: “Is this guy’s dad Lee Evans?”

But another savage fan posted: “Did you look at the $Lee Evans store. This is going to be painful….”

Lee has also starred in Hollywood films during his career.

This comes after Britain’s Got Talent viewers last week theorized who they thought might be behind The Witch’s facial prosthetics after her macabre act came out.

The witch came to the BGT stage only to approach the jury and frighten Simon, Amanda, Alesha and David.

The contestant handed out apples from a sack while reciting a creepy song.

Amanda holds in her hand a pristine apple, crushed by The Witch to reveal the dreaded maggots and cockroaches, which litter the judge’s table.

“Tommy has some Lee Evans in him.”

Alesha jumped out of her seat and fled the jury in fear after the insect explosion, saying she wouldn’t return until they were cleared.

BGT viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the creepy stunt, with many guessing who might be under the prosthetics and makeup.

Some suggested that the contestant was none other than one of ITV’s talented hosts, Ant McPartlin or Dec Donnelly.

“I think ‘The Witch’ is Dec in disguise!” wrote on one, as another said: “That witch really looks like Ant in a secret! Haha”.

Another viewer said: “When that witch showed up, I thought it was Ant undercover and I don’t know why”.

“No, why do witches really look like Ant?” suggested by others.

“Is this guy’s dad Lee Evans?”

The new Britain’s Got Talent series premieres in April and the eye-popping repertoire has ranged from dog tricks and magicians to acrobatics and dinosaurs.

Familiar faces are back with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon once again on the judges’ bench.

ITV bosses were forced to cancel the series last year because the Covid pandemic and multiple closures made auditions nearly impossible.

In 2020, the semi-finals and finals have been delayed until the fall and pre-recorded, with Simon Cowell being replaced by Ashley Banjo after the media mogul got into a bad accident in the US.

Britain’s Got Talent returns at 8pm Saturday on ITV and ITV Hub.
