BGT: Acrobatic group ‘The Freaks’ perform daring auditions
Britain’s Got Talent viewers were left stunned when an “unbelievable” and “out-of-this-world” acrobatics failed to be awarded the Golden Buzzer by the judges in the latest episode.
The auditions shown on ITV tonight included the Freaks, a troupe of acrobats from Austria, who impressed viewers with their “bold” performance on the show.
The group is seen flying through the air, with one young member having fallen from a considerable height at one point – before being caught by the others.
The judges voted for the group to advance to the semi-finals, although viewers were shocked that the group was not given one of the remaining golden bells for the audition.

“They were easily the best audition to date. Why didn’t anyone give them the golden whistle?” one viewer asked. Others expressed similar sentiments on Twitter tonight.
Another tweeted: “The fact that they don’t get a yellow whistle just proves [the panel] can’t rate a dog show.” One fan asked, “Why didn’t they get a golden whistle? “
“What’s no golden bell for Freaks?” asked a fan along with #confused. Another said: “Omg. How the hell didn’t they get the golden bell? Wow. They’re amazing.”
Another viewer said it was “unjust” that an act so “creative” should not be rewarded with a yellow whistle, while they criticized the referees for the decision.

Sharing their thoughts on social media, one viewer tweeted: “Simon made the Freaks look like they were getting the golden bell, I’m sure they thought the same. Cool. “
“How is that not a golden whistle? Wow. Absolutely amazing. Never seen anything like it,” said another. One person asked: “ Golden buzzer stopped working for that last stage? ”
Another person wrote:“ Omg how did they let that go without a golden whistle? “Another suggested that referees should not ‘waste’ a yellow whistle on a previous action.

Others said they couldn’t believe it and were “surprised” by the action. Compliments for Freaks include that they are “incredible, bold and unique.”
“Best show I’ve seen in years on BGT. It’s so good. It deserves a golden bell,” said one fan. Others said they were “out of this world” and “so talented.”
The jury included Simon Cowell, 62, Alesha Dixon, 43, Amanda Holden, 51, and David Walliams, 50. Three golden whistles were used, only two remained.
