Britain’s Got Talent returns to ITV this weekend for a new series and a familiar face is back

BGT winner Jon Courtenay confirms return to show
Britain’s Got Talent winner Jon Courtenay is returning to the series, two years after his big win.
The Golden Buzzer winner went to Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly wowed fans with his songs and comedic performances, and he soon claimed the 2020 series win.
After a hiatus when the movie premiered last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the film is back starring judges Amanda Holden, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell this weekend.
But speaking on Lorraine on Friday, former champion Jon, the last man to win the series, revealed he is back.

While remaining calm about the details, he explained that he will return once to celebrate the launch of the series.
In an upcoming episode, viewers will see Jon return to the stage to perform one of his favorite performances.
He told host Christine Lampard: “Yeah, that’s great! They called me and said we’d like to introduce you, so I’m going to open one of the episodes.

“I wrote a song because that’s what I do now, I write my own songs. So I’m opening one of the episodes. And then there’s something else that I don’t think of. we are allowed to talk.
“Nobody told me…so yeah, I’ll be introduced, that’s absolutely adorable, and it’s great to go back.”
Judge Simon recently spoke about the judging lineup, and revealed why he hasn’t changed it in 10 years.

He told The Radio Times : “Look, I don’t sit there on Saturday nights and watch, but I can watch a little bit of it every now and then.
“They’ve done an excellent job. Like the BGT, it hasn’t really changed. It’s a great lesson: when you’ve got something that works, don’t tinker with it.”
Simon, 62, appeared on the show in 2020 during the audition period, but Diversity’s Ashley Banjo was forced into the last minute for the semifinals and final, which was delayed until the fall.
Britain’s Got Talent 2022 premieres at 8pm, Saturday on ITV channel.
