The family of a teenager who died in an accident said his loss left “an immeasurable void in our lives”.
Charlie Chandler, 18, of Burgess Hill, was riding a motorbike on Cuckfield Road, near Ansty, when he was involved in a collision with a Volkswagen.
He was airlifted to the hospital but sadly died of his injuries five days later.
Charlie attended Bhasvic in Brighton and had just completed three A levels.
His family said in a statement that he had planned to take a year out of education to work before going to university
They said: “The loss of Charlie has left an immeasurable void in our lives.
“He was kind, caring, funny and intelligent.
“His family and friends are devastated by the senseless death of such a vibrant young man with his whole life ahead of him.”
Police continue to investigate the clash, which took place around 9:45 p.m. on August 30.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 63-year-old man from Hassocks, helps with questions.
