President Joe Biden tested positive for Covid through antigen tests late Saturday morning after testing negative for several days in a row, his doctor in a Letter.
“After testing negative on Tuesday night, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning and Friday morning, the President tested positive by antigen testing late Saturday morning. This actually represents ‘rebound’ positivity,” wrote Dr. Kevin O’Connor, White House Physician.
Biden, 79, has not experienced a recurrence of symptoms and remains feeling well, O’Connor said. “In light of this, there is currently no reason to resume treatment, but we will of course continue to monitor the observation closely.”
However, he will return to strict isolation procedures, the doctor added.
“Guys, today I tested positive for COVID again. This is happening to a small minority of people,” the president tweeted on Saturday. “I have no symptoms but I will isolate myself for the safety of everyone around me. I’m still at work and will be back on the road soon.”
