Biden’s audience laughs as he pokes fun at Boebert and Tuberville

President Joe Biden again poked fun at Republican lawmakers Wednesday for recognizing projects when they voted against the bills that would provide funding.

Biden targeted Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) while promoting his administration’s clean energy initiatives at an event in New Mexico.

The President mentioned that Expansion of the CS wind turbine tower manufacturing facility in Pueblo, Colorado.

“Coincidentally, CS Wind is Congresswoman Lauren Boebert — you know, the very quiet Republican? — it’s in her district,” he pointed out while the audience laughed. “Who voted against this bill along with all other Republicans.”

Biden said she “raided against the bill” but now welcomes it.

“That’s okay,” he said. “When I ran for office, I promised to be president for all Americans. Whether you live in a blue state or a red state, I will keep my promise.

Biden called Tuberville — who is currently blocking US military promotions to protest abortion policies — the “distinguished Alabama state senator who used to be a pretty good football coach.”

Tuberville, like Boebert, opposed the bill.

“Then I noticed he had a big announcement: ‘Alabama is getting $1 billion, $200 million…’ and I was like, ‘Wait a minute!’ Didn’t he rail against that for a long, long time?”

In fact, he voted when Tuberville voted against the bill that would earmark the funds for the broadband rollout he touted, and then made a big announcement to celebrate it.

“I was inclined to go down and help him celebrate, but I decided against it,” Biden said, to more laughter from his audience.
