“Big Black Cat” chases a frightened eleven-year-old boy during an evening bike ride through the forest

Martin Abonyi watched in terror as the mysterious cat sprinted towards his eleven-year-old son Harry, but luckily the creature did not attack and both father and son were unharmed

A father shared the “terrifying” moment when a large black cat appeared to chase his son through a forest as the two were out for an evening cycle.
The father and son were cycling at Doncaster’s Black Carr Plantation in Yorkshire on Wednesday May 18 when they stumbled upon the large animal. live in yorkshire reported.
Martin Abonyi, from Armthorpe, watched in terror as the mysterious mega-cat sprinted towards her 11-year-old son Harry. Luckily the creature didn’t attack and both father and son were unharmed.
But the experience “quite shattered” the child, according to Martin.
The couple were enjoying a bike ride on the trails surrounding the forest around 7.30pm when Martin saw the shocking sight.
He said: “My son was driving about 30 meters in front of me. As we rounded a corner, I caught a glimpse of a large black animal that sprinted out of the cover of the forest and headed straight for my son, who ran diagonally to fend him off.
“My first thought was a big black dog as I wasn’t expecting anything else. The woods are popular with dog walkers, so I quickly glanced to the left to see if I could identify the dog’s owners.
“I was a little worried about the animal’s intentions at the time, but when I looked back to see if it was near my son, the animal was gone.”
Martin added: “It appeared to be a very large cat and not a dog, with neither owners nor anyone else in sight or hearing. The animal also had to traverse a short stretch of bracken and scrub to get to my son, which is the only one.” The conclusion I could draw was that it saw me coming, broke off its attack, and lay down in the bracken.
“Domestic dogs just don’t do that. The shell wasn’t that dense, so it must have been well hidden.”

Not detecting any movement in the area, the concerned father, not knowing what had happened, told Harry to keep cycling. “I didn’t tell him until after we were out of the woods so as not to raise an alarm, but he was quite shaken when I told him,” Martin explained.
He continued: “Obviously my son had no idea so he wasn’t scared at the time but I was quite alarmed at the breeding site sighting of large black cats with one being sighted less than a mile from our sighting last year.
In the days since, Martin has returned to the woods with a big cat investigator who is compiling reports of sightings across Doncaster. During the visit, they uncovered further signs that a large cat had been in the area.
Not only did the group find an animal scratch, they also saw “what appeared to be a large cat’s paw left in fresh soil about 100 yards from the original sighting.” Martin says the investigator confirmed it was a large cat footprint.
He has also been contacted by another member of the public who reports sighting a large cat in the same woods at 9pm on Saturday May 22nd.
