Big Sync Music expands in Latin America led by Patricia Portaro

Creative music licensing agency Big Sync Music is expanding its team in Latin America.

Songtradr’s own company has tapped Patricia Portaro as Head of Music Supervision, LATAM, to lead the department and recently hired Javier Andrade as project manager for partnerships.
Big Sync Music, which claims to be “one of the fastest growing global music agencies”, works with brands like Unilever, L’Oreal Luxe and Google among many others
The LATAM expansion comes four months after UK-based sync licensing company Cuesongs teamed up with Big Sync Music.
In her new role, Portaro will oversee all of Big Sync’s upcoming projects related to film, television and sports, bringing in new business and fulfilling all elements of the oversight process.
Andrade turns lRead all the creative music productions for Big Sync advertisers in Argentina while working as Music Supervisor for branded content, Film & TV throughout LATAM.
The team also consists of Alex Menck, Head of Americas, Lorenzo Lautz, Music Supervisor, Telma Pafume, Clearance Coordinator, along with a broader local support team.
The team’s most recent projects include overseeing the music for LOV3that recently on Amazon Prime and Back to the 15th for Netflix.
Portaro has been a music supervisor and licensing specialist for 15 years, after working on more than 200 film and television projects in the US, UK and Latin America.
highlights include BABENCO SOMEONE HAS TO HOREN TO THE HEART AND SAY STOP (2020), Winner of the Venice Festival Classics Award for Best Documentary and Academy Award nomination in 2020; and “PELE” (2021), an English documentary released last year via Netflix.
andrade began his career as an Argentine journalist who wrote and hosted the first Pan-Regional Music news TV program for MTV Latin America.
Most recently he worked as a music expert a Advisor for the music programming department at DIRECTV Latin America.
Working with brands like Lynx, Dove, Toyota, Magnum and others, Big Sync claims to have “helped some of the world’s most celebrated brands and agencies build their businesses by harnessing the power of music”.
Big Sync has also recently completed notable work with Premier League, Budweiser, Spotify and TikTok.
Big Sync was acquired by Santa Monica-based B2B music licensing marketplace Songtradr in a multi-million dollar cash and equity transaction in 2019.
