Billions of Google users today need to search for the “blue button” — touch it once to avoid lifetime regrets

EVERY Google Account holder should check their settings today.
There is a blue button that can give you a serious privacy upgrade.
It’s hidden in your account settings for your Google account.
The blue badge represents privacy suggestions that you can use to improve your accounts immediately.
It will appear in your account when there are important changes you can make.
Go to Google in a web browser, then tap your profile picture.
Then select Manage your Google account.
This will take you to your account page, where you can see all of your Google information, as well as privacy and security settings.
You’ll see a blue badge with a G on it and an option to click through to review your privacy settings.
Click on it and you’ll have the opportunity to view and review some of your most important settings.
So much important information passes through Google that ignoring it is too risky.
Your web activity and location can all be tracked through Google.
This means if someone gains access to your account, they can access vast amounts of extremely sensitive information.
Likewise, a leak at Google could have the same dangerous consequences.
It could be a gold mine for stalkers or criminals who specialize in identity theft.
One of the suggestions might be to automatically delete your web and app activity.
This allows your data to be deleted after a period of time, preventing an endless backlog of information about you from being stored on Google’s servers.
Another option could be to automatically delete your YouTube history.
You may also be prompted to set up the Inactive Account Manager.
This allows you to plan what happens to your data when you stop using your account.
It’s a convenient (but morbid) way to prepare your Google account for your own death.
Suggestions are personalized based on the Google services you use most.
So your own suggestions may differ from those of others.

You can select “not now” for each option to delay one of the privacy choices.
However, consider implementing the suggestions as soon as possible given how important your Google Account is – and the information within it.
