BioWare store listing hinting at Shepard’s return in Mass Effect 5 was ‘a mistake’

Looks like a listing for a Mass Effect N7 daily lithograph detailing the plot for mass effect 5 was wrong, leading many to believe that Commander Shepard would return to the game.

In the listing, a synopsis for the yet-untitled next Mass Effect read: “The show goes on… Shepard’s final quest may have ended the Reaper threat, but at great cost, including Earth itself. While Shepard and the survivors are left around.” picking up the pieces, fans wonder what’s next.

According to project manager Michael Gamblethe BioWare Gear Store listing, which has since been changed, was written by people who run the store and are “unfamiliar with the game.”

So that seems to be ending hope for some of Shepard returning, but you never know. Only BioWare knows for sure, but the store product in question is an image that was revealed last November, and the game is believed to be set a few years in the future, meaning Shepard could have joined the chorus invisibly long ago .

Almost nothing is known about Mass Effect 5, and while BioWare hasn’t said much since announcing it was in the works in November 2020, the studio said at the time it was looking forward to sharing information about it in the future.

Recently, BioWare reiterated that the next game in the series is in the early stages of development and it will be “a while before we can talk more about it” before the game can be discussed in more detail.
