The UK’s cheapest locations to buy a home have been revealed, with Brits naming their top choice of cities and towns to get the most of their budget

The Brits have spoken and crowned Birmingham the cheapest city to buy a home in the UK.

A current survey made by McCarthy Stone revealed the nation ranks Birmingham as a top location for best value for money and where Brits believe it is the location for the cheapest property in the UK.

As the The UK housing market continues to grow From success to success, it becomes more and more difficult to find an affordable apartment. with a typical UK home now costs 8.8 times that than the normal full-time salary, it can certainly help to know where in the country you are most likely to find bang for your buck.

Brits ranked Birmingham first for value, with 4.9% of countries choosing the West Midlands hub as their first choice from 48 locations.

Brighton (4.7%) has earned its place as the second best location in the UK to buy a home. Known for its independent restaurants and sea air, the coastal city proves that quality of life trumps price when it comes to a place to live.

Neighboring south-west cities of Bristol (4.5%) and Bath (4%) followed closely behind in the rankings, setting them apart from the high prices of Cornish and Devon property.

Plenty of green space, community groups and independent retailers, and affordable housing options make Birmingham the preferred choice

In the public perception of the cheapest real estate locations in the UK, Birmingham (6.9%) again topped the rankings, followed by the city of Hull in Yorkshire (5.5%). The Northern Irish cities of Armagh (5.3%), Belfast (5.2%) and Bangor (4.5%) made up the rest of the top five, with the area being perceived as a good shopping area.
