Fans were left heartbroken when news of Jamal Edwards’ death was shocked on Sunday, and his passing has been sadly confirmed by his family.
Mother and TV presenter Brenda Edwards, who rose to fame on The X Factor, released an emotional statement announcing that her beloved son has passed away at the age of 31.
“With the deepest pain I can confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning from a serious illness,” she said.
“Myself, his sister Tanisha and the rest of his family and friends were absolutely devastated. He is the center of our world. “
Sadly, other famous faces over the years have suffered the blow of losing a child, including Bob Geldof, the late John Travolta and Kelly Preston, and Dr.

The Hollywood couple were heartbroken when their eldest son Jett, 16, died in an accident while on vacation in the Bahamas.
Grease star John, along with his wife Kelly, and their two other children Ella and Benjamin, were devastated when Jett had a seizure after banging his head in the bathtub at their motel.
Jett, who has had a history of epilepsy since the age of 2, was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease at just 15 months old and is also on the autism spectrum.
Sadly, that wasn’t the only tragedy to strike the Travolta family, as actress Kelly passed away after a battle with breast cancer in July 2020.
The musician and philanthropist shared daughter Peaches with his ex-wife Paula Yates, who tragically died of a heroin overdose in 2000 at the age of 41.
Bob was heartbroken when Peaches, who was married and had two sons, died in 2014, after a heroin overdose. She is 25 years old.
“We are working through the pain. She was the wildest, funniest, smartest, smartest and most liked of all of us,” the Boomtown Rats singer said in a statement after her death.
“We love her and will cherish her forever.”
Bob said he helps Peaches’ widow Thomas Cohen along with the couple’s two young sons – Astala, 7, and Phaedra, 6 – and describes his nephews as “lovely” stupidly”.

In January of this year, the Oscar-winning actress was rocked by the sudden death of her only son Ian Alexander Jr., at the age of 26.
Regina released a heartbreaking statement upon news of her son’s death, which was officially ruled a suicide by the coroner.
“Our family is devastated to the deepest extent by the loss of Ian. He is a bright light who is very concerned about the happiness of others. Our family respectfully considers during this private time. Thanks,” she said.

The hip-hop icon suffered a tragic loss in August 2008, when his 20-year-old son Andre Young Jr was found dead in his home in California.
Andre died of an overdose of heroin and morphine, and was found in his bed by his mother, Jenita Porter, but paramedics were unable to revive him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Dr Dre is mourning the passing of his son Andre Young Jr. Please respect his family’s grief and privacy at this time,” a representative for the rapper said in a statement.
The Still Dre hitmaker has never spoken about his son’s loss.
In December, the TV star, actor and musician announced the sad news that his 5-month-old son, Zen, had passed away after a brave battle with brain cancer.
Nick and model Alyssa Scott mourn the loss of their young son, who was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer just weeks after he was born.

The Nothing Compares 2 U singer announced the death of her 17-year-old son Shane earlier this month and shared the news in a heartbreaking social media post.

The teenager was one of eight children born to Marie and her husband Brian, and in 2007 Michael entered rehab for undisclosed reasons.
The former Osmonds star shared her son’s tragic death in an interview with Oprah Winfrey nearly 10 years after her son’s death, and said Michael is suffering from depression due to bullying.
She said her son was “severely bullied” until he took his own life, and said he was targeted “because of his laziness.”
The iconic man was dealt a heavy blow in 1991, when his four-year-old son Conor Clapton died in a horrific crash.
Eric has shared the boy with Italian actress Lory del Santo, and his son is being cared for by a nanny while staying in his mother’s 53rd-floor apartment in Manhattan.
Conor fell to his death from an apartment window, leaving his parents heartbroken over a senseless tragedy.
To deal with his pain, Eric wrote the hit song Tears In Heaven, with the emotional lyrics: “Will you hold my hand? What if I see you in heaven? ”
The musician described his son Conor as “the best thing in my life that good things can happen”, and became sober when he was born.
“When he was born, I was drinking, and he was really the main reason why I went back to therapy, because I really love this boy,” Eric said in an interview on 60. Minutes of America in 1999.
