“West Mercia Search and Rescue discovered the body while searching for 21-year-old missing man Nathan Fleetwood, who was last seen on Sunday March 27.”

Tributes poured in for Mr Fleetwood, who was last seen leaving the city’s popular Albert Shed music venue.

A heartbroken Facebook message from his family said: “We as a family need time, some space, to come to terms with our loss.

“Everyone who helped, gave kind words, amazing support that was there will also be forever grateful to each and every one of you.”

Another message read: “Nathan I just want you to know from the bottom of our hearts that we all love you so much and have done everything we can to get you home safely.

“This is my little personal message to you and if I didn’t write it I couldn’t stop crying. Fly high, my friend, until we meet again.”

Police are still pressing two men believed to have helped Mr Fleetwood book a taxi to make contact.

The men, in their early 20s and said to be articulate, helped him on the Kingsland Bridge between 3.30am and 4.15am.

The first man is described as white, 6ft 2in tall with curly drapery style brown hair and wearing light blue jeans and a black Berghaus fleece.

The second man is also described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a short beard and wearing a beige jacket with the hood pulled up.

Detective Sergeant David Bettison said: “First of all we would like to thank the public for all their help since we made our first appeal as we have heard from a number of people who have assisted us with our searches.

“We are now excited to speak to these two men who were seen helping Nathan on the bridge as we believe they were trying to help Nathan book a taxi so he could get home.

“There is no evidence that the two men had anything to do with Nathan’s disappearance, but we believe they may have important information that could help us better understand Nathan’s movements in the early hours of Sunday morning.”
