Bognor crash victim remembers – police arrest Chichester man

The family of a motorcyclist killed in a collision have paid tribute, saying they are “deeply heartbroken” by his death.

Connor Laye, 18, of Bognor, died after the accident at the junction of Chichester Road and Hawthorn Road on Friday October 14.

His family released a statement paying tribute to the teenager.

Recalling him, they said: “Connor was full of life and always lived it with no regrets – every day was a new day and a new adventure for him.

“He brought us many ups and downs as a family, but his big heart, charm and caring nature always shone through.

“We will always remember him and love him dearly and are deeply heartbroken that this has happened.”

After the accident, Connor was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, where he unfortunately died.

The driver of the car, a 44-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing the death through careless or reckless driving.

The Chichester man was also arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle while unfit from alcohol or drugs.
