Bold colors and long trains dominate the red carpet Critics Choice Awards

Bold colors and long dresses dominated the red carpet at the 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards.

Events held in Los Angeles and London, treasures of all shapes and sizes hosted by Hollywood stars continue to delight with the return of live ceremonies.

Ceremonial host Nicole Byer led the way in a vibrant Christian Siriano off-the-shoulder gown in pink lipstick.

The comedian hosted with US actor Taye Diggs at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.

Ariana DeBose continued both her award success and running stunning dresses in a sunflower yellow Carolina Herrera piece.

The star, who won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Anita in West Side Story, expressed her gratitude to Rita Moreno, who played the same role in the original 1961 film, with whom she says, “made space for me to grow alongside you”.

Moreno, who was also nominated for a best supporting actress award at the CCA, wore a long cream and gold dress with a large ruffled bodice and matching cream gloves.

The screen and stage veteran also opted for large turquoise and silver earrings and a gray pixie bob.

Just like DeBose, British actress Hannah Waddingham opted for a Carolina Herrera design, with a black skirt and shocking black bodice.

Lady Gaga made a big impression when she wore a see-through gold dress with black Gucci lines, accompanied by a revealing bra.

The House Of Gucci star, who was nominated for best actress at the CCA, also wore a shrunken black lace top.

Coda star Marlee Matlin opted for a regal purple off-the-shoulder gown by Dolce & Gabbana.

Tennis star Serena Williams beamed alongside her sister Venus as they attended the event alongside best actor winner Will Smith.

Serena wore a pearl gray Atelier Versace dress with a statement train.

The sisters presented the award for best television series and thanked the cast of King Richard for their “perfect” portrayal of their family.

British actress Jodie Turner Smith shined in a high-collared turquoise silk gown by Gucci.

Squid Game star Jung Ho Yeon also stood out on the red carpet in an eye-catching structured tiered dress by Louis Vuitton.

The haute couture set is decorated with sparkling silver embroidery.

Hailie Sahar wears an orange jacket with a large hood similar to those of Rick Owens with pink gloves and red loafers.

But not all incoming stars choose to walk along the red carpet.

Halle Berry, who received the CCA SeeHer Award, opted for a black Dolce and Gabbana suit with a white corset instead.

The star also sported a short silver and black hairstyle, reminiscent of her famous X-Men character Storm.

Pose star MJ Rodriguez opted for trousers for a jump-suit look, along with an asymmetrical dark blue off-the-shoulder top, thick gold necklace and hoop earrings.
