A new update for Book of Travels is out, and the Might and Delight team is sticking to their promise to devote all development resources to fixes and improvements for a period of time.
While most of the update is about fixing issues, there are some new additions that will improve the experience. These mainly come in the form of optimizations. One of the most important is that server regions are now assigned by local time zone by default. This should also bring players to the more powerful regions.
Other changes added some gameplay effects to the traits. If you’re observant, you’ll see shimmering collectibles more often. When your character is learned, you still retain some progress on skills you refine even after you’ve unlearned them. Hard players get more stamina. Restrained players get a chance to keep some reagents when brewing teas of their wind affinity, while focused players simply brew the tea faster.
There are new pop-up confirmations to let you know when applying settings or trying to exit the settings menu without saving.
The list of bug fixes the team fixed includes issues where both sometimes disappeared, players weren’t properly attached to a vehicle, and got stuck on boats. Also made some graphical fixes for vehicles, including making the train locomotive sometimes visually go in the wrong direction.
Other fixes helped with bugs related to NPC and player movement and the environment, people no longer getting stuck after petting animals, and a bug that prevented people from logging out if they didn’t sit down first . Fixed other bugs that caused menus to hang or parts of the HUD to disappear when opening menus, as well as the ability to press Tab to view invisible NPC names. You have to find out the names of these spirits in another way.
