Boots is changing its Advantage Card loyalty program – and the change means more deals for online shoppers.

The health and beauty giant has confirmed that its new Price Advantage initiative will now be available online, having previously only been available in stores.

Price Advantage grants exclusive discounts to Boots customers with an Advantage Card.

These offers are not available to buyers who are not enrolled in the loyalty program.

In the shops, the customer has to hand in their advantage card at the checkout in order to receive the lower price advertised on the shelves.

But Boots has now started adding “Price Advantage” products to its websites – meaning online shoppers can also benefit from lower prices if they’re part of the loyalty program.

Traditionally, customers have been able to link their Advantage Card to their Boots online account to earn points.

You must ensure that your card is linked to your account and that you are logged in to take advantage of the “Price Save” offers.

The lower prices will be advertised online and in the Boots app alongside the regular price of the item.

In addition, the program has expanded to include over 300 additional products in categories such as beauty, health and baby.

It initially only comprised around 150 articles.

Advantage Cardholders who purchase products included in the program will see an average saving of £2.65 per product, according to Boots.

Some products are up to 50% off and savings of up to £17.

Pete Markey, Chief Marketing Officer at Boots UK, said: “Price Advantage was born from feedback from customers, many of whom told us that they would like to receive immediate benefits and earn points and treat themselves in the future through their Boots Advantage card.

“The response to the launch has been really positive, so we’re now making it more accessible by launching it online and adding more products.”

Less good news for shoppers: Boots customers were furious this week after the pharmacy chain confirmed they will soon lose all their Advantage points if they haven’t used their card in over a year.

At the moment your points will be deleted after two years. The change will take effect on June 20, 2022.

While you don’t have to spend your points, you do have to shop at Boots and scan your card.

Advantage members earn four Rewards points for every £1 spent in store and online.

The points are then worth 1p each when you convert them into deals.
