Bord Beer CEO Tara McCarthy will step down from her role, the government agency has announced.
cCarthy, who will take up a new position in the private sector in June, said she will continue her role until then.
Regarding the departure, Bord Beer president Dan MacSweeney said: “Tara has made a significant contribution to Bord Beer, and the organization is in a very good position due to her leadership, energy and drive. in the past five years.
“The search for Tara’s successor begins immediately and in the interim, and I have full confidence that the leadership team at Bord Bia will continue to successfully execute on our new and exciting strategy.”
McCarthy said she was “so grateful for the wonderful privilege” of leading Bord Bia.
“It’s an exciting and thought-provoking organization, with a powerful and inspiring mission. The broader agri-food industry faces many challenges, but it’s thanks to the amazing people that work in and around the industry that it continues to thrive,” she said.

Agriculture Secretary Charlie McConalogue thanked McCarthy for her leadership and commitment to Bord Beer and the broader agri-food industry, as well as developing new markets and building on existing ones. .
