In May 2018, Lilly and Becker announced that they were separating after nine years of marriage, but the couple share a 12-year-old son, Amadeus.

Speaking of informing their children of her father’s conviction, Lilly told the Daily Mail it was “the worst thing I’ve ever had to do”.

“My instinct is to say it like this: ‘Your father is in prison. He’s fucking dead,'” the 45-year-old revealed.

“But you can’t say that to a 12-year-old, okay? Not when you’re a mother, Mother Tiger’s job on this earth is to protect that child.”

Little did Amadeus know that his famous father was facing a jury at Southwark Crown Court last month, and Lilly enlisted the help of a friend on how to tell her son.

“We told him in our playroom, where he felt safe. It was one of the worst things I’ve ever had to do,” she recalls.

“I will never forget to look into his blue eyes – as blue as Boris’s – and watch them go from left to right and back. He was in awe. He couldn’t grasp it. “

She explained that Amadeus wanted to go alone, but 20 minutes later came downstairs to stay with his mother.

Lilly said she told her son that his father was “not a criminal”, but understandably the boy had many questions.

“Amadeus is doing better now. He’s asking the question – what will Papa eat? Can he watch the movie?” she speaks.

“So I just have to answer as best I can, but no, it’s not fair that I’m in this position. It’s not fair that Amadeus is in this position.”

Lilly’s comments came after it was reported that Becker had complained about the food and lack of hygiene in prison.

Becker is expected to spend just 15 months locked up and serving the rest of her life under license.

Prison sources say he is struggling to adapt to the food on offer, or lacks them because he is using his £10 weekly allowance to load up on meals with chocolates, cookies and bananas from the canteen.

They also mentioned that he found overcrowding difficult to adjust as well as sleep deprivation in his six-square-foot room.

A source told The Sun: “He’s having a hard time and the worst part is the food. He couldn’t believe how bad it was and how small the portions were.

“One of his first meals was corned beef, which didn’t taste good. But he’ll have to get used to it. He was also shocked at the lack of hygiene at the prison because it was so crowded,” they said. more.
