Downing Street has thrown glasses of fizz, wine, spirits and beer in the faces of millions of people who have been doing the right thing during the Covid pandemic.
Today’s front page photo of the Daily Mirror of yet another boozy party raises questions as to why Boris Johnson was only fined.
Official Sue Gray’s forthcoming report, which we believe the Prime Minister was trying to prevent from appearing, is expected to be damning.
In that case, Johnson should resign or be sacked by his Conservative MPs.
He clearly lied to the Commons when he denied parties had taken place, including the one at which he was pictured raising a glass.
His drunken gang laugh at security guards who defied the party, lending a snobbish side to the Old Etonian’s ridiculous regime.
Honesty counts in politics and trust was destroyed by this charlatan.
Great Britain can do much better.

Power failure
Energy bills more than doubling in six months will be a disaster for households and put more pressure on a Conservative government that is doing little.
The rate of increase is as astounding as it is painful, as a price cap jumped from £1,277 in March to £1,971 in April and could be as high as £2,800 in October.
The prospect of such hardship for so many means Boris Johnson could finally be snapped out of his party frenzy.
Desperate to change the agenda, he was finally able to announce limited support on top of his previous inadequate actions.
What he doesn’t deserve is gratitude after stalling for so long.

A country with fewer butterflies would be a much more boring place.
Habitat loss and climate catastrophe are two terrible threats that we must face or future generations will never enjoy butterflies in our gardens and parks.
