BOYZONE star Keith Duffy has said he is “heartbroken” in an emotional tribute to his late father.
Sean passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on Saturday at Connolly Blanchardstown Hospital surrounded by family.
Keith and son Jay remember Sean as a “brave warrior” and shared sweet moments with their deceased loved one.
They wrote: “Words cannot describe how heartbroken we are to announce the passing of our father/grandfather Séan.
“The bravest and bravest warrior we have ever known and probably will ever know.
“We missed him so much. Keith & Jay. X”
Fans and friends flocked to the comments section to send their love to the boy during this difficult time.
Former band member Ronan Keating said: “Sending all our love.”
Shane Lynch left three heart emojis.
Someone said: “So sorry for your loss Keith. Sincere condolences to you and all the family.”
Thalia Heffernan commented: “So sorry to hear from you guys, sending lots of love and strength xxxxxxxxx”
Virgin Media star Glenda Gilson wrote: “And what a gentleman. RIP Sean. Thinking of you all and sending you lots of love xx.”
According to RIP.ie, Sean will mourn his loving wife, sons, sisters Carmel and Margaret, daughter-in-law Rose and Lisa, brother-in-law, grandchildren Jordan, Mia, Ailbhe, Tadhg, Lily and Dylan, nieces, relatives, neighbors and friends.
His relocation will take place on Thursday to Glasnevin Crematorium for Service at 2pm.
The family has requested that the house be private.
Sad death comes later Keith recently opened about how close he became to his son Jay after the lockdown.
Keith told the Irish Sun: “A year and a half off is not something I’ve ever done.
“My family and I have a great relationship and I have a great relationship with my children, so the four of us live together in Dublin.
“We thought we were going to go home in a week or two or three, but when I got home, they had a routine that I didn’t join.
“So the first two or three weeks it was very difficult to fit in, and my son was a family man and he had to move in and let his dad in.
“It took a couple of weeks to get used to each other, to be around each other and I don’t think I could have been closer to my children.
“But God, the closeness we have now is extraordinary compared to where we were once, even though it is really satisfying, where we are in a different world.
“It’s not that we’re close father and son, we’re best friends now, it’s amazing and I never would have had it if I hadn’t been stuck at home with them for 18 month.”
