Sussex sailor Brad Currie has shared his delight at making a stunning first class debut at Lord’s.
The bowler on trial won the championship game against Middlesex, 6-93.
He was promoted from 2nd XI Cricket after winning three for three against the same county at Horsham last week.
Currie said: “You could see from my celebrations that even getting one meant a lot to me.
“I also said to Ari (Karvelas, team-mate) I just want the first to be a good wicket. I didn’t want it to get caught on the deep square leg or anything.
“Just to play for Sussex, to play in the County Championship, sometimes you have to let the emotions out.
“Negatives have to be tried and controlled and put on a brave face, but when those doors fell it was just pure excitement.”
Middlesex were bowled for 485, giving Sussex a 38 lead in the first innings that goes into the final day of the Wat a near-certain tie.
