The Chase: Jenny Ryan makes an offer to deduct £11,000

Bradley Walsh was left speechless after a contestant on The Chase accept a cash offer minus £11,000.

Jo from Ripon is the fourth contestant to enter the competition ITV show tonight, with Adam and Hassan securing their spot in the Final Chase and contributing £29,000 between them into the final pot.

So when Jo started going up against puzzler Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, viewers believed the team had a great chance of making it to the finals with lots of money to play.

However, Jo struggled in her quick cash-building round and only managed to win £2,000 to add to the pot.

Bradley can’t believe it

As part of the game, she was then asked if she wanted the chance to take a step closer to The Chaser for a chance to win £46,000 or if she wanted to move closer to home – but she will have to give up the £11,000 bonus.

Presenter Bradley couldn’t believe it when Jo decided to take it a step home and take on a huge £11,000 cash offer, and he was even left speechless when she tried to return safe just by answering three questions.

It will give her three more earning opportunities, if she doesn’t make the lower offer.

Jo’s ‘low’ offer is minus £11,000

Now with £18,000 to split among them, the three contestants entered the final race and managed to beat Jenny, meaning each would take home a share of £6,000.

Fans of the ITV show have arrived Twitter to find out what happened.

“I’m so confused after that episode. I’ll take – £11k to get it back then contribute an answer in the final that my dog could have been right. These people live among us. # TheChase,” wrote one person.

A second person added: “Minus £11,000. Didn’t answer a single question. Yes it was an extra question for The Chaser in the final but.. NO!!

Viewers weren’t impressed with Jo .’s decision

“You wouldn’t, would you? And I love Jenny so much, there’s no such thing as ‘Low money is never an insult’ that can stop me from thinking that £11k robbery wasn’t.. #TheChase .”

Fans were even more upset when Jo barely featured in the final Chase, with one writing: “Oh Jo. Just sitting there answering no questions is fine? final pursuit # thechase.”

However, one viewer said Jo “did the right thing” to accept the lower offer, as they wrote: “I think she did the right thing, I know £11k is a lot of money but like Jenny said taking the lower offer takes the pressure off her #TheChase.”
