A NEW trailer for the Breath of the Wild sequel was revealed during September’s Nintendo Direct, including an official name and release date.
We now know what the official name of the upcoming sequel will be The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
The trailer showed Link in a city in the sky, similar to Skyward Sword’s Skyloft.
He then jumps off the ledge – similar to the Wii game – but he doesn’t land on a loft wing.
Instead, he lands on a rock-like bird – more like Mario Sunshine’s Sandbird.
You’d think it would be a hard landing, but he seems safe and sails away.
The trailer wasn’t very long for a fan base that has been patiently awaiting news of a Breath of the Wild sequel.
However, while the gameplay and cinematics were short, so is the time before Tears of the Kingdom finally releases.
Nintendo announced that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on May 12, 2023.
That means there’s only seven months to wait before the game’s release.
Breath of the Wild is the best-selling Zelda game of all time, selling three times as much as the second most popular game, Twilight Princess.
It’s also one of the most decorated games of all time, earning a massive 97/100 on the metacritic side of the game rating.
It also won Game of the Year at the 2017 Game Awards, the gaming equivalent of the Oscars.
Zelda players were hoping for news and more remakes for Nintendo Switch.
Especially the fans asked about games from the WiiU era, Twilight Princess or Wind Waker.
Nothing else has been announced from the series, but there is a new Kirby remake called Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe.
