We all remember Brendan Cole from serious to dance, but only those with a strong memory will recall his appearance on Love Island.

Brendan explains: “A few beers were drunk and real emotions emerged.

“I said my part and then I got a punch on me, and I have to say I wasn’t too kind to get hit.”

He added: “I don’t appreciate a punch thrown at me and I acted, I think, accordingly.

Lee complained that Brendan had started it by insulting him, though he was the first to respond with violence and threats to walk away.

Lee said at the time: “He was telling me that I was always trying to be the center of attention, disrespectful behaviour.

“He hit me six times. I hit back, he said it was one punch for every week you pissed me off, he asked me to try hitting him back.

“I want to go home now. I want to walk after, get hit in the head six times and look like a hole. I know in my heart, I was right.”

Lee decides to stay and the pair later embrace and make up, but Brendan is rather unrepentant.

“In a similar situation, I would do the same thing again. I’m not saying I was wrong,” he insisted.

Brendan managed to make it to the final after teaming up with Eternal singer Kelle Bryan, who is now a Loose Women board member, and Hollyoaks star.

They finished in second place after the winner Calum Best and Bianca Gascoignewho went on to have a brief romance after the series ended.

Brendan was kicked off from Serious in 2018 but is now back on our screens on Dancing on Ice.

Over the years, he has developed a bit of a ‘bad boy’ image due to his frequent standing in front of the judges and his ‘do or die’ reputation.

Vanessa has had Covid

Brendan has been skating with professional Vanessa Bauer, but unfortunately she won’t be participating this week after testing positive for Covid.

Brendan is “absolutely gutted” that he won’t skate with Vanessa but is happy to form an all-male partnership with Brendyn, who previously played with S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens.

Brendan said, “However, with Vanessa’s blessing, I had the wonderful opportunity to create something great for Musical Week with Brendyn.

“He’s an exceptionally talented skater and I’m sure we’ll be able to create something really special for the show! I can’t thank him enough for stepping in. “

For Musical Week, Brendan and Brendyn will skate to Frankie Valli’s Beggin’ and The Four Seasons from the hit show Jersey Boys.

Vanessa said: “I am delighted that Brendan is able to skate and challenge himself with such an incredible and professional friend in Brendyn.

“I have no doubt they’re going completely broke this Sunday. I’m looking forward to returning to the competition to showcase more creative habits!”
