Brendan Fraser among honorees at the 2023 Palm Springs International Film Festival

Brendan Fraser, Colin Farrell and Cate Blanchett were among the honorees at the 34th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival.

The annual festival returns live January 5-16 this year for the first time since 2020 and kicks off the 2023 awards season.

Speaking to US magazine Variety on the event’s red carpet, Fraser said he was “excited” to be back at a live festival.

Fraser was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a Critics’ Choice Award for her role in the psychological drama.

The opening night of the Palm Springs International Film Festival comes less than a week before the Golden Globe Awards on January 10 and the Critics’ Choice Awards on January 15.
