An anonymous bride was forced to kick one of her bridesmaids, whom she had known since high school, out of her wedding after she showed up in a white dress for the special occasion

An angry bride had no choice but to kick her best friend out of her wedding after she showed up in a wedding dress on the day.

The anonymous 28-year-old revealed this in a post on reddit about the heartbreaking story she claims ruined her big day.

In a lengthy post, the newlywed explained that they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony attended by just 20 people.

Her best friend from high school – who she called Andy in the thread – was a bridesmaid at the wedding.

The unnamed woman admits Andy used to bully her at school, though she thought the other woman had “grown” since then.

She wrote: “But back in school Andy was a bit of a bully, even towards me.

“Obviously, that was all back in school, and I thought she’d grown significantly since then.

“She picked out a beautiful rose gold dress which I thought was quite cute and I assumed that was it.

“A few days before my wedding, Andy calls me and says she has a ‘surprise’ in store for me that she hopes I’ll enjoy.

“I thought it was a wedding present or something, but boy was I wrong!”

She said her best friend changed her mind about her wedding guest outfit to something that was more of her “joy and happiness” – she entered a white gown and a headpiece designed to look like a veil.

“I was amazed and asked her why she was dressed like a bride. Andy goes on to tell me that she changed her mind about her previous dress and decided to pick something that would work as a symbol of her sharing my joy and happiness.

“She talked about how she used to joke all the time in high school about wearing white to my wedding and how I laughed about it. So this was supposed to be a funny ‘inside joke’. Well, obviously I didn’t find that funny. A huge argument ensued, during which I basically yelled at her. She offered to put her rose gold dress back on, but I was extremely upset, so I just asked her to leave.

“In the days that followed, she casually called me (for choosing a dress instead of inviting more people) and claimed I was jealous because she looked slimmer than me in her dress. Finally I blocked them. Her husband then called me to tell me she’s been depressed lately and just wanted to cheer herself up by looking good and that I overreacted.”

However, many users on the platform did not consider them excessive.

One person wrote: “You found out she was still awful. I can’t think of what could possibly be causing her life to be so bad.”

Another commented: “She wanted to show you off. That comment about you being jealous that she looked slimmer than you in her dress speaks volumes.”

And a third concluded: “She knew better than to wear white and if she really cared about your happiness she would have stuck with her original dress. How sure are you that she’s outgrown the bullying?”
