When it comes to planning a wedding, most brides spend hours going through every detail to ensure their special day turns out just how they envisioned it.

And one bride-to-be has not only spent 14 years planning her dream day, but also plotting her revenge on her closest family.

Speaking to Reddit, the 23-year-old explained how she banned her mom, dad and older brother from her wedding for bringing their childhood dog to a new home.

She said: “I’m marrying my fiancé who I met in college.

“Most of his immediate and extended family will be there, as will most of my extended family.

“However, I’m only planning to invite my younger sister to the wedding. This means that my mother, father and brother will not come.

“The reason for this is because when I was younger (about nine) my parents rescued a Golden Retriever puppy named Harry from the animal shelter.

“My family fell in love with Harry quickly, but I feel my bond with him was very special.

“That changed when my older brother started complaining about allergies, which we later found out were due to Harry.

“My parents told us we needed to give Harry a new home but assured us he would go to a good home.”

Wanting to keep her dog, she asked her parents to put allergy medication on her brother instead.

However, they quickly discarded this idea.

Although her dog went to a good home, she has never forgiven her family for giving Harry a new home and has been plotting her revenge ever since.

The UK-raised woman added: “To say I resented them would be an understatement, which was one of the reasons I went to college in the US.

“Needless to say, my family didn’t take the wedding news lightly. When they asked me why, I explained that I hadn’t forgiven them for giving Harry a new home and that their presence would make things uncomfortable for me.

“My parents are apparently very upset about this, according to my older brother, who called me ‘nasty’ for doing what I do since my parents paid my college tuition and helped me pay the rent on my electric apartment.

“My fiancé says that if I don’t want my family to be at my wedding, it’s up to me and he won’t argue with me.”

While most users agreed the parents were right about adopting the dog, others berated the woman for being “spoiled” and “underappreciated.”

One user said: “The parents were just trying to help their son have a comfortable life. It’s sad, but the dog would have been fine.

“This apology is so petty and justified considering the woman is an adult still living off her parents. You must be so hurt.”

Another user added, “It’s very superficial and legitimate. I hope the parents cut the legitimate brat off. Just wow.”

A third user said: “Who would want to marry someone like that?

“The level of pettiness, selfishness and lack of morality in taking her parents’ money is such a huge red banner.

“He’s a complete idiot for still going through with the marriage.”
