The romantic period drama Bridgerton captivated the world when it aired in 2020, with loyal fans of the series eagerly awaiting its return with a new season.
Now the wait is over as the second season is set to premiere on Netflix on Friday, March 25, 2022, bringing fan-favorite characters and new faces to the screen. our photo.
While the previous season focused on the love story between the Duke of Hastings (Regé Jean Page) and his eldest daughter Bridgerton Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), this season offers a refreshing love story.
Here’s everything you need to know about season two of Bridgerton including who is returning and who has left the series.
Who will return to Bridgerton?

Phoebe Dynevor, who plays the central character as Daphne Bridgerton, is expected to return in season two to help support her family during the season.
In a supporting role, she will encourage the marriage of Anthony’s wild brother, Johnathan Bailey, as well as support the debut of her sister Eloise, played by Claudia Jessie.
We will also be reunited with Penelope Featherington, do Nicola Coughla n, and have the opportunity to be reacquainted with the Featherington family film. Lady Portia, played by Polly Walker, will also return with the pregnant and unwanted Marina Thompson hostess, played by Ruby Barker, as well as her unmarried daughters.
Other familiar faces of Bridgerton who will return include Benedict, played by Luke Thompson, Luke Newton as Colin, Lady Violet, Francesca, Gregory and Hyacinth.
Finally, there’s Lady Danbury, played by Adjoa Andoh, alongside Jessica Madsen as Cressida Cowpe, Kathryn Drysdale as Genevieve, Martins Imhangbe as Will Mondrich and Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte.
Who wouldn’t return to Bridgerton?
While Phoebe Dynevor will appear as Daphne, fans were saddened to learn that actor Regé-Jean Page, who plays the glamorous Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett, will not be in the second season.
Last year, a post on Bridgerton’s official Instagram confirmed: “While all eyes are on Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find the Viscountess, we have placed a very high bid for Regé Jean Page, who has been plays the Duke of Hastings triumphantly. We will miss Simon’s presence on screen but he will always be part of the Bridgerton family.”
Who are the new characters on Bridgerton?
One of the major new additions to the Bridgerton cast in the new season is Sex Education’s Simone Ashley, who will join the cast as Kate Sharma.
Kate Sharma is Anthony’s lover and has been described as an “intelligent, hard-working young woman without the slightest bit of goofiness”. Ashley will star actress Charithra Chandran, who plays Edwina Sharma, Kate’s younger sister.
Another new face in the cast is Rupert Young, who plays Jack, a character created specifically for the series. Also joining the cast are Shelley Conn, who plays Mary, the mother of the Sharma sisters, as well as Calam Lynch, who will play the printer’s assistant Theo Sharpe.
