Bridgerton’s Ruby Barker on her mental health struggles

Bridgerton star Ruby Barker has told fans she “can’t wait for the future” after revealing she has been discharged from the hospital following a “mental health struggle”.

The actress, 25, posted an emotional message on her Instagram account on Monday telling fans she was “grateful” for their support.

She has previously admitted she has become “really unwell” since appearing in the hit TV series, but has told her followers she is “doing well” for yourself.

In the candid video, the star is seen talking from a pool in a nature retreat.

She thanked everyone for their help and support for making her feel “happy to be alive” and for those who reached out to her while she was having a hard time.

She also thanked the NHS staff who supported her in her time of need and offered advice to those watching and revealed what she would tell herself as a child.

Ruby Barker uploaded a brave video on Monday

Ruby said: “I told myself it’s not all doom and gloom. Even if you hit the bottom, it’s not all doom and gloom.”

She ended her video message by saying: “Whoever is in a dark place right now, I just want you to know I see you, I feel you, okay, but find it funny and flip that coin.”

Captioning the video, she wrote: “I’ve been discharged! Thank you so much everyone for the support, I can’t wait for the future and I feel as if I’ve stepped out onto the other side.

“Thank you everyone, have a good day. Take care of yourselves, don’t be afraid to come meet your loved ones and we are all in this as they say in High School. Musical. Big big love.”

The post has received a lot of love and support from her friends and followers.

Among those who left positive messages in the comments section was businessman Otto Orondaam, who said: “Sending you Ruby love and light.”

TV producer Jake Hunter left three blue love heart emojis, while close friend Josh Armitage wrote: “Congratulations. Hope to see you soon, my lovely one. Proud of you xx”

The post comes after Ruby said last week she had been “resting a bit” after being hospitalized during her “mental health struggles”.

In the brave video, she tells viewers: “I’m better now, I’ve been really unwell for a long time. I want to be honest with everyone. I worked hard.

“‘I’m in the hospital right now and I’ll be discharged soon and hopefully be able to move on with my life.

“I’ll take a little break for myself and I’ll encourage others, if you’re having a hard time, do something for yourself and take a break, don’t be too hard on yourself.”
