‘Brighton Council taxpayers should withhold funds until police are more effective’

READING reports of robberies, muggings, car vandalism and graffiti and antisocial behavior I am compelled to ask if Sussex Police have any intention or interest in making their presence known?

I was unfortunate enough to need her help a few weeks ago when our delightfully selfish student neighbors decided to throw a night-long party on a Tuesday.

This wonderful event meant I got exactly two hours of sleep as an NHS worker who had to work a 7am shift.

I was referred to the Neighborhood Noise Team, which only works weekends. All I got was a crime case number.

My question is this. If Brighton Police refuse to help people in need do we have the right to stop funding by deducting from our council tax?

Of course, the answer to this rhetorical question is a resounding “no”. But for my part I will certainly question our illustrious advice.
