Brighton Food and Drink Festival postponed after Queen’s death

A food and drink festival has been postponed following the death of Her Majesty The Queen.

The three-day Pub-in-the-Park festival, which was due to take place in Preston Park next weekend, is now taking place in May to avoid clashing with national days of mourning.

In a statement, organizers said: “We do not wish to promote or host any event next weekend during a time of national mourning and in the days leading up to the funeral. We would prefer to give everyone involved time and space to grieve.” They wish.

“We have therefore decided to postpone this event to next year and have provisionally agreed to host the Pub in Park Brighton from 5th to 7th May 2023.”

The organizers also said that ticket holders and participants will be contacted in due course.

It comes as the London to Brighton bike tour announced the event is going ahead despite the mourning period.
